From Gotham to Wakanda, Gaul to the Americas, they speak of their saviours, the symbols of their pride. From upstate New York to Riverdale to Keystone City, the citizens speak of different tales; but the core is the same: truth, courage, honour, and the urge to be more than the expected; to step into the age of heroes.
From a small corner of Europe in 1837 to brick-and-mortar bookstores today, comic books have travelled a journey rivalled in rich lore only by the tales they tell. It was a simple idea. What if a few pages and a little artwork could bring people together? And with time, they did. Communities were created, friendships were forged and a hunger for new content was ignited among the masses.
We flew fighter jets with Hal Jordan and Carol Danvers. Took pride in the creation of Tenma's android and Stone's cyborg. We even roamed the jungles with Kraven the Hunter and Shikari Shambu--with varying motivations, of course.
We lived these tales as our own, and revelled and cried and laughed. We celebrated victories, stood strong in defeats, and persevered through the challenges. Because that's what heroes do.
Nick Fury believed in that.
So must we.
And the time for celebration is upon us again.
We beckon to the heroes. To sentinels, and to defenders. There will be contention, but we'll not back down. Come Apocalypse, come Doomsday, we will not back down.
Come together to stand alongside your fellow heroes, mutants and metahumans, and travel the new frontiers. Witness the super men and women of wonder, as they celebrate, compete and create to win the day.
We might not have telekinesis, claws that go snikt, or even a batarang. But we are something more. We are the heroes they all spoke of, with brains sharper than a needle and faster than a supercomputer. We are the Knights of Gotham, the Queens of Themyscira, the legionnaires of Gaul; and we will combine our powers, in every parallel dimension. As an adventure is set afoot in an imperfect world--the only one we’ve got--we’ll brave the thundering typhoons, head across unnatural territory, and reach our better selves. Just like that worthy hero from Brooklyn and that amazing kid from Queens.
Ready the Quinjet, call the Phantom. Board the Karaboudjan and let the Benatar know: the next mission calls. Set course for the final royale, where all good things begin: Bosco Fest 2019.
This July, assemble.
The All-Star Edition awaits.
